Nicole Claveloux was born in 1940 in Saint-Etienne. She moved to Paris in 1967. She drew comic strips and made spot illustrations for newspapers. She did a couple of children's books, illustrated for the French version of Heavy Metal, and had a popular comic strirp called Grabote. Harlin Quist published a collection of her comics, besides hiring her as an illustrator for many of their books featuring a different illustrator on every page. She has publshed more than 60 works. There is a lot more info on her if you speak French.

Just like the statue in n° I, this one had traces of colour on her body too (c.f. nipples). If anyone knows anything about the tradition of painted/painting graveyard sculptures, I'd be more than interested to hear about it. One thing is certain: This was not vandalism, but real old pigmentation.

From the flickr page:
I put my age as 100 in my profile because I didn't think it was important.
To my surprise, several people actually thought I was 100, and one very nice young lady actually wanted her grandfather who was 93 to follow in my footsteps here on flickr.
So here I am, earlier this year, 2006 with my girl friend Mariko at the wedding of one of her close friends in Manhattan NYC.
I am not chronologically 100, I just feel like it.
